Cruise industry stocks plummeted early last month as Hurricane Irma wreaked havoc across the Caribbean and Florida. This, following the devastation of Hurricane Harvey in Texas, caused major concern for cruise lines. Concern for the people affected and also the cruise industry, which depends on tourism and travel to thrive.

The Caribbean accounts for 35 percent of the cruise industry’s global capacity and all three of the largest carriers are based in Miami. We took a closer look at CLIA’s State of the Cruise Industry Outlook 2017 report to see where people travel from, where they go, and how the industry is expected to perform this year:
