Did you know the Great Wall of China isn’t visible from space, sharks can get cancer, and Napoleon simply wasn’t that short?
London-based data-journalist, author and information designer David McCandless created one large infographic to debunk some of the most commonly believed myths and misconceptions, titled ‘Common MythConceptions: World’s Most Contagious Falsehoods.’
This fascinating infographic, featured on Information is Beautiful, is more than just a table of fun facts. The chart is organized by category, sorted by color, and each myth is sized proportionally to its ‘virulence’ – which refers to how many hits it turns up on Google.
Enjoy exploring these modern ‘facts’ covering science, history, sports, nature, and more! Click the image below for a larger version.
