2022 was a year of exploration and growth for Infogram. We introduced a host of new features and charts, including the date range picker in analytics, autoplay for presentations, timeline mode for region-type maps, and more. Our customers have taken full advantage of these features, creating a wide range of interactive data visualization projects. From race bar charts to infographics and presentation slides, our clients have used Infogram to its full potential, resulting in some truly remarkable data visualization projects.
As we look back at the year that was, we’ve compiled a list of the Top 8 Data Visualization Projects of 2022. These projects were selected internally by the Infogram team and represent some of the best work our customers have produced over the past year. We hope these projects will inspire you to create even more amazing data visualizations in 2023!
1. Private Equity International presentation
The presentation slides by Private Equity International, part of the PEI Group, have truly impressed us. The interactive presentation has claimed a spot in our ranking due to the intuitive and visually compelling use of animations. The first few slides captured our attention with the highly impactful use of animated elements combined with smooth transitions from slide to slide. Also, the presentation has convenient navigation – users can click on the topics and immediately jump to the corresponding slides. On top of that, the slides are enriched with elegantly placed bars, stacked bars, and other charts that provide insightful information on each topic.
All in all, the slides are visually attractive and communicate the message effectively with the use of visual hierarchy, matching color palettes, visually attractive charts, eye-catching animations, and smooth transitions. The combination of all of these elements makes the viewing process a capturing experience for all.
2. Ajuntament L’Hospitalet presentation
Who knew you could fit so many crucial insights in only 11 slides while making it a highly engaging viewing experience? The Ajuntament L’Hospitalet presentation slides score in data plentitude they’ve managed to cover in their slides. Most importantly, they delivered these insights in a visually appealing and easily digestible manner.
It’s easy to take in the information because there’s enough breathing space between the elements, the color palette is easy on the eyes, and the font is perfectly simple. Also, the interactive charts help discover more data when hovering over them, engaging the viewer. Last but not least, the use of visuals like icons and images provides the necessary visual cues and attracts attention.
3. Transparency International Lithuania infographic
Transparency International Lithuania infographic stands out with its visually appealing infographic design and animated transitions. When scrolling through the infographic, the information unfolds before us and we’re captured by the smooth yet eye-catching animations. The clever use of color makes this infographic particularly memorable. The bright red highlights significant insights and numbers without overwhelming the viewer. Also, visual hierarchy is successfully used to imply the importance of specific numbers and draws attention to notable insights. All in all, the infographic is easy to read and provides an engaging experience for the viewer.
4. FOX Television Stations timeline infographic
The FOX Television Stations timeline infographic presents sensitive information about a topic in an engaging and effective way. The timeline format is a great way to show the progression of an event, and this infographic does a fantastic job of capturing the viewer’s attention with its animated unfolding of the situation. As you scroll down, new data is revealed, and the animation makes the process of discovering this data highly captivating. The visuals used in the timeline infographic also provide additional context and make the information easier to understand.
In addition to being visually appealing, this infographic also encourages the viewer to learn more. At the end of the infographic, there are clickable sources that allow the viewer to delve deeper into the topic. This is a great example of how infographics can be used to drive traffic to specific websites and promote further learning. Overall, the FOX Television Stations’ timeline infographic is a valuable tool for presenting sensitive information in a clear and engaging way.
5. Sabiedrisko Pakalpojumu Regulēšanas Komisijas slides
The presentation by Sabiedrisko Pakalpojumu Regulēšanas Komisija claims its spot in our ranking with its clean and proper design. It has everything you want in a well-structured presentation – interactive tooltips, beautifully designed charts, well-formed visual hierarchy, compelling visuals, smooth transitions, and easy-to-read typography. What’s more, the presentation design is consistent and delivers a memorable visual identity with repeating colors and slide backgrounds.
6. European Federation for Transport and Environment dashboard
A great example that scores in dashboard design are by the European Federation for Transport and Environment. Everything from design consistency to the choice of color and visual elements makes this dashboard stand out. The data-centric dashboard does a great job of showcasing rich data visualizations without overwhelming the viewer. Also, there are more insights you can discover by hovering over the data points. Moreover, using icons saves space on the dashboard and provides additional context when presenting data.
7. UNICEF stacked bar chart
UNICEF’s well-rounded stacked bar chart displays insightful data about the global burden of malnutrition across country income groups. What’s great about the visualization, is that it showcases meaningful data in a highly engaging and visually attractive way. The harmonious color palette matches the UNICEF colors. It grabs our attention, while the icons perfectly correspond to each topic, offering more context. Also, the text is easy to read and there’s enough blank space between elements that makes the visualization well-balanced.
8. Independent Commodity Intelligence Services racing bar chart
Last but definitely not least impressive data visualization of 2022, is the racing bar chart by the Independent Commodity Intelligence Services. It’s a great example of a racing bar chart that engages the viewer while showcasing time-based changes in data. This racing bar chart is easy to read and follow as the dates change next to the racing bars.
What’s exciting to note – bar racing charts now support images on bars, so you can add whatever images you want on top of the racing bars as in the example below.
